BACHELOR STUDIES

  • Specialisation MEDICAL PHYSICS, Physics Field – Full‑time education, 3 years, in Romanian

The degree programme is offered by the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, but is run by the Faculty of Physics.

The program provides specific interdisciplinary training, with an emphasis on biophysics and medical physics, offering a modern perspective on highly relevant fields such as: Biophysics and Biochemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Nuclear Medicine, Bioelectromagnetism, Radiology and Medical Imaging, Detectors, Dosimetry and Radiation Protection, Laser Applications in Technology and Biophotonics, Biomolecular Structures and Biomaterials, Fundamentals of Molecular Spectroscopy, Bioinformatics and Medical Statistics, Medical Equipment, Biorobotics, Numerical and Analog Modeling of Biological Processes. Through this program, the faculty assumes the mission of delivering high‑quality training for students pursuing a career in Medical Physics, Biophysics, or related fields.

Selection criteria:

  • High school graduates holding a baccalaureate diploma will sit a written examination and the admission score will be calculated according to the following algorithm:

ADMISSION SCORE = 0.5 X BACCALAUREATE SCORE** + 0.5 X WRITTEN TEST SCORE

** For the BACCALAUREATE SCORE the candidate can opt for one of the following: the baccalaureate average score or the baccalaureate exam grade in physics, informatics, or mathematics.

  • Specialisation MEDICAL ENGINEERING, Applied Engineering Sciences Field – Full‑time education, 4 years, in Romanian, Resita extension.

The degree programme is offered by the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, but is run by the Faculty of Engineering.

The major objective of the Medical Engineering program is to train highly qualified specialists (EQF/CEC Level 6) by developing the specialized competencies and skills required for practicing as engineers in the field of medical devices and equipment. The design of the study program was carried out with the involvement of representatives from the academic environment—including students—as well as from the socio‑economic and cultural‑artistic sectors and the labor market.

The program curriculum:

Selection criteria:

  • Motivation letter graded on a Pass/Fail basis. Results are published on the admission platform
  • The arithmetic mean with two decimal points of the second and third written tests of the baccalaureate exam (assessment tailored to the field of study, programme, specialisation, or assessment of choice based on the field of study, programme, specialisation), worth 100% of the admission score.
  • Applicants who have won first, second, or third place in international Olympiads or school competitions acknowledged by the Ministry of Education and Research in the previous four years, or first place in national Olympiads funded by the Ministry of Education and Research, are eligible for admission with a score of 10.00.

 

  • Specialisation KINESITHERAPY AND SPECIAL MOTOR FUNCTION, Kinesitherapy Field – Full‑time education, 3 years, in Romanian and Hungarian

The degree programme is offered by the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, but is run by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport.

The current trends of integrating Romanian education in the field of Physical Education and Sports into the European academic space, following the introduction of the Bologna system, have made it necessary for faculties in this domain to include the Bachelor’s program in Physiotherapy and Special Motor Skills in their educational offer. This program provides graduates with multiple competencies, the most important being the qualification required to practice as a physiotherapist. From this perspective, the mission of this Bachelor’s program is to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and the development of the competencies needed to practice the physiotherapy profession, in accordance with labor market demands and current regulations.

The Bachelor’s specialization in Physiotherapy and Special Motor Skills fits within the field of Physiotherapy, as the profession of physiotherapist lies at the intersection of physical education and medicine, playing a crucial role in maintaining and promoting public health, preventing illness, supporting functional rehabilitation, and preventing long‑term complications. The specialization benefits from both general foundational courses and specialized subjects that provide graduates with the specific professional competencies required in the field.

  • Evaluation framework for assessing motor skills on a Pass/Fail basis.
  • Multiple choice test in Biology worth 100% of the admission score.

 

  • Specialisation PODIATRY, Health Field**** – 4 years, full time education – in Romanian
  • Specialisation NUTRITION AND DIET, Health Field**** – 3 years, full time education – in Romanian and Hungarian

Selection criteria:

  • Baccalaureate score worth 25% of the admission score.
  • Written test in Biology worth 75% of the admission score.

****Admission for these programmes is subject to provisional accreditation by ARACIS and publication in a Government Decision.
